Confucius Temple

Confucius Temple is located in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. It is the temple for worship Confucius, and it is Chinese first national the highest educational institution. It is the important place of Chinese ancient culture. Moreover, it is the famous educational building group in China.

Confucius Temple is one group ancient buildings with big scale. It consist of of Confucius Temple, Xue Gong and Examination Hall. It covers lots of area. There are screen walls, Paifang, Juxing Gazebo, Kuixing Pavilion, Dacheng Palace, etc. Confucius Temple is named Qinhuai Attractions and becomes the featured scenic area in Nanjing City. It is Chinese biggest traditional market center.

Confucius Temple is built in AD 337, its original building is the college. In AD 1034, it is expanded to the Confucius Temple. It was destroyed in the war four times, and was rebuilt for five times. The original buildings are the style of Tang and Song Dynasty. In the renovation in 1985, the buildings around Confucius Temple are rebuilt to be the style of Ming and Qing Dynasty. The most roofs of these buildings are installed with old Chinese roof tiles, and the structures are painted to be the red color.
