Daxiangguo Temple

Daxiangguo temple , the original name Jianguo temple ,is located in the west of Ziyou road

in Kaifeng city. It is the famous Buddhist temple and was built in Kingdom of Qi.Tang Ruizong

Emperor gave the name to commemorate his identity before he assumed the throne.

Song dynasty Xiangguo temple was deeply revered by royal and expanded many times,

which was the largest temple in the capital and also was the center of Buddhist activity in China.

The Daxiangguo temple is the traditional the layout in design. The main architectures are temple

gate , Tianwang Hall ,Main Hall, coloured glazed temple and Depository of Buddhist Sutras. On

the side of Main Hall are the pavilion and pergola buildings. The Depository of Buddhist Sutras

and Main Hall are the Qing style architectures ,where are double hipped roof and covered with

yellow and green glazed tiles.

Main Hall repaired in Qing dynasty was 13 meters high and 5 rooms depth and 7 rooms length.

Magnificent and Elegant .It is  the treasure of ancient architecture, is known as "the first temple

of central plains".Around the hall white marble railings were carved with 58 stone lions in different

shape.
