Jingjue Temple

Jingjue temple is located in the southeast of Yutian county, which is the royal temple. It is

known as “the first temple in capital”.

Jingjue temple was built in Tang dynasty.But it was rebuilt and repaired four times. Now the

preserved architectures are all Qing style buildings.

The main buildings are three halls including gate hall ,main hall and rear hall and three towers

including tablet tower ,bell tower and drum tower.

The architectural art of Jingjue temple has two styles of Ming and Qing dynasties. It integrate

the palace and folk two characteristics. It is rare for the dragon and phoenix pattern on both

sides of the main hall. In the front there are two stone pillars carved with dragons. The beams

were paited colored with gold powder. The whole temple architecture painted frescoes are

exquisite, the stone sculptures are lifelike, and the calligraphy of the inscription is even more impressive.

Jingjue temple is a Buddhist temple, but it is different from other Buddhist temples. The exquisite

architectural structure and colorful painted engravings make people impressive.

The gate hall is no beam hall only the stone and brick,which is very special. Arguably it is the

first wonder of the ancient temple.
