Shunfeng Mountain Paifang

The paifang in the front of Shunfeng Mountain Park is built in 2002. The total height is 38 meters, the width is 88 meters. The thickness of base is 3 meters, while the span is 35 meters. The weight of whole paifang is about 14000 tons. Shunfeng Mountain Paifang is the biggest one in Asia.

There are 16 columns on both sides of Paifang between two door openings, which are carved to dragon shapes. One dragon column weighs up to 25 tons. These dragon columns are high up in the air. They like the flying dragons. This paifang is called Chinese First Paifang for its big scale, majestic shape, gorgeous patterns and the exquisite stone carving.

There are five words on the front side of paifang: Shunfeng Mountain Park. The words on the other size are “Shunfeng Lan Sheng”. There are many carving patterns between these three door opening, like lions, dragons, flowers, birds, etc.

The roof of Shunfeng Mountain Paifang is double eaves roof. The roof is installed by yellow and green glazed Chinese roof tiles. The eaves is installed with green glazed roof tiles, while roof is installed with yellow glazed roof tiles. And the accessories are using the green ones.
