Hui Style Architecture

Hui Style Architecture is one kind of important Chinese traditional architectures. The material of this kind of architecture is brick, wood and stone, and the main structure is wood. Meanwhile, it uses many ornaments. Bricks, wood and stone carving can be as the roof ornaments, which are very delicate and have highly high artistic ornamental.

Generally, Hui style architecture is made up of white walls and grey Chinese roof tiles, which are also its important features. There are also many ponds among these buildings. White walls, grey tiles, waters, these elements make Hui style architecture like a picturesque Chinese ink painting.

Some buildings of Hui style use very complicated roof ornaments, like flower ridges, dragon heads and curved tiles. Some roof ridges are carved the flower patterns, which stand for the family like the blooming flowers. As for the dragon heads, it is said the dragon can swallow the clouds and make rain. Installing the dragon heads on roof can protect the house from fire.

Hui Style architecture also uses brick carvings and hollow windows. Brick carvings are installed on the up of the door, while hollow windows are installed in the wall of house. The functions of hollow windows are airing, lighting and decoration. And there are many types of hollow windows, like circle, square, sector, etc.
