Fireproof and Thermal Insulation Effect of Chinese Glazed Tiles

Chinese antique glazed tiles, as one of the traditional building materials, not only have good aesthetics and artistic value, but also have good waterproof, breathable, and fire insulation characteristics.

    1. Fire resistance performance of Chinese glazed tiles

Traditional Chinese glazed tiles have undergone multiple high-temperature firing processes and exhibit excellent flame retardancy. When a fire occurs, the main components of glazed tiles are inorganic substances such as silicates and calcium, making them less likely to burn or melt. Even in a fire, glazed tiles will only show localized damage such as surface cracking or peeling, without accelerating the spread of the fire like other materials.
In addition, Chinese glazed tiles can withstand very high temperatures, which can slow down or prevent the spread of fires. In front of a fire, glazed tiles can slow down their conduction speed, thereby delaying the time when buildings are damaged by the fire.

    2. Thermal insulation performance of Chinese glazed tiles
Traditional Chinese glazed tiles have good insulation properties. Due to its relatively hard nature, it can effectively isolate the influence of external cold and hot air, thereby achieving a certain insulation effect. At the same time, covering the surface of Chinese glazed tiles with a thick layer of yellow mud can increase the insulation  performance of Chinese glazed tiles.
Traditional Chinese glazed tiles can also regulate indoor temperature, making the indoor temperature relatively stable. In summer, Chinese glazed tiles can lower indoor temperature and block direct sunlight. In winter, Chinese glazed tiles can maintain indoor warmth and reduce energy consumption.
