A Miraculous Ancient Building With Exquisite Craftsmanship

Zhenwu Pavilion, one of the four famous buildings in Jiangnan, China, is a rare pearl in the history of ancient Chinese architecture. Its superb architectural skills are unparalleled in the world. American professor Lawrence Taylor said that this building represents the perfect combination of knowledge, science, and spirit of the Chinese people.

Zhenwu Pavilion is the only pure wood structure building among the four famous buildings in the south of the Yangtze River that has not been rebuilt but has been preserved in its original location. For more than 400 years, Zhenwu Pavilion has suffered five major earthquakes and three major typhoons, collapsed civil buildings throughout the city, cracked the seven foot thick city wall, uprooted trees and flagpoles, but Zhenwu Pavilion is still standing upright and stable! It's really a miracle.

The Zhenwu Pavilion is in the shape of a square tower, with a total height of 13.2 meters, a face width of 13.8 meters, and a depth of 11.2 meters. It, along with the Jinglue Platform, is nearly 20 meters high. The entire pavilion is composed of 3000 grid wooden components of varying sizes, cleverly connected and matched in series based on the principle of lever structure, supporting and constraining each other, and reasonably coordinating to form a beautiful and stable unity.
The ancient piers at the base of the columns of the pavilion are also carved with exquisite patterns, and the exquisite craftsmanship of the ancient piers at the base of the columns of the pavilion is also carved with exquisite patterns, with exquisite craftsmanship.

The Zhenwu Pavilion is divided into three layers and three eaves. The eaves protrude greatly, with high and low columns, which are faster than the eaves of ordinary pavilions. From a distance, it does not resemble a three story building, but rather a single story building with three eaves. However, it has a distinct hierarchy and a strong sense of rhythm and momentum compared to ordinary double eaves buildings. The slope of the eaves is gentle and smooth, the corners are simple and flat, stretching and atmospheric, and the sulfur glass green tiles are fresh and elegant, just like an artistic masterpiece!
