Chaotian Palace

    Nanjing, formerly known as 金陵 (Jinling), has a history of over 2500 years of city building and nearly 500 years of capital building. It has been the capital of ten dynasties and political power, and is known as the "Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties" and "Capital of Ten Dynasties".

    Chaotian Palace is a group of Ming and Qing official style ancient buildings with the highest level, largest scale, and most complete preservation in the Jiangnan region, known as the "Number One Scenic Spot in Jinling".

    During the Southern Dynasty, Chaotian Palace was the location of the earliest scientific research institution, Zongming Temple, in southern China. It was the highest level social science research institution in China at that time, and the temple gathered scientific elites from various parts of China during the Southern Dynasty to exchange and study the achievements of social sciences and cultural arts at Zongming Temple.

    The Chaotian Palace in the Ming Dynasty was the largest and most famous Taoist temple in Nanjing at that time, covering an area of over 300 acres. It had hundreds of various halls and houses, and three-dimensional buildings such as the God King Hall, the Sanqing Main Hall, the Datong Ming Treasure Hall, the Long Live Main Hall and so on.

    Chaotian Palace is a typical Ming and Qing dynasty palace style architecture, and its architectural pattern, style, and construction technology are important and rare physical materials for studying ancient Chinese architecture, especially Ming and Qing architecture. It has extremely high historical, artistic, and scientific value.
