Guozijian,The Imperial College

    Imperial College is located in Beijing and was the highest administrative institution and highest institution established by the state for managing education during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties in China. It was first built in the Yuan Dynasty (1287 AD) and underwent large-scale repairs and expansions to form the current regulations. The overall building of the Imperial College faces south and is a courtyard with three entrances, covering an area of over 27000 square meters.   

                           

   Imperial College not only accepts students from all ethnic groups in the country, but also receives foreign students. It has played a positive role in cultivating talents from all ethnic groups in China and promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. The main building of the Imperial College has been well preserved for over 700 years, making it the only fully preserved site of the highest ancient university. Imperial College is renowned for its long history, unique architectural style, and profound cultural connotations.

                           

Main buildings
    The Jixian Gate is the gate of the Imperial College, located at the southernmost end of the central axis. There is a well pavilion in the courtyard from east to west, and the Zhijing Gate on the east side is connected to the Confucius Temple.

    Taixue Gate is the second entrance gate to the Imperial College courtyard, located north of Jixian Gate. Inside the door, there is a bell pavilion on the left, a drum pavilion on the right, and an imperial stele pavilion.

                            

    The glazed memorial archway has three gates and four pillars. The memorial archway is covered with yellow glazed tiles to show the royal tradition of learning and valuing education. On the left and right sides of the square are double eaved stele pavilions with yellow glazed tiles.

                            

    In addition, there are also the Bi Yong Hall, the "Six Halls", the Yi Lun Hall, and the Jing Yi Pavilion. The Imperial College also witnessed the emergence, development, and extinction of the imperial examination system. The value and spirit contained in the Guozijian and imperial examination system are a huge cultural wealth for China and even the world.
