A model of Chinese residential architecture in Qing Dynasty

    The whole building complex of Qujia Courtyard has a total area of 23628 square meters, and has developed 7500 square meters. The whole courtyard is grand and majestic, exuding the spirit, temperament and charm of traditional Chinese culture, and is a rare five-step hall courtyard in the country. The Minglou Courtyard, Tonglou Courtyard, Balustrade Courtyard and Theater Courtyard are ingeniously combined, which are well arranged. The hanging top, resting top, rolling roof and hard top have different forms and distinct priorities. They contain elements of traditional Chinese culture and profound artistic heritage, and have high cultural, artistic and cultural values.

                                    

    Between the courtyards, there are archways and hallways connecting each other, forming a wonderful pattern of courtyards, doors and doors. Among them, stone balustrade courtyard, five-entry hall courtyard, archway courtyard and stage courtyard can be regarded as the four architectural features of Qujia courtyard. The archway is majestic and spectacular. There are halls between the courtyards. The archway is separated by each other, with distinct layers, lively and interesting. The inside and outside of the house are painted luxuriantly and piled with gold powder. Wood, stone and brick carvings can be seen from the top, with a wide range of themes, meaning peace, and excellent knife techniques.

                                    

    The appearance of the courtyard is castle-style, the wall is more than 10 meters high, and there is a tall arched gate hole with an exquisite overlooking pavilion. The layout of the buildings in the courtyard is reasonable, the main and side courtyards are clear, the bluestone foundation of the courtyard is laid, and the terrazzo brick masonry is used. The decorative arts such as brick, wood and stone carving are also colorful and exquisite, reflecting the unique charm of traditional Chinese carving art. Entering Qujia's grand courtyard is like entering a sculpture art museum.

                                   

    The courtyard of Qujia is magnificent and well arranged. Almost all components from the interior to the exterior, from the outer eaves to the inner eaves have carved decorations. With rich themes, superb techniques, or rich and luxurious, or simple and elegant, or full of gold and jade, or rich in books, it has high artistic value and viewing value. The wood carving techniques in the courtyard are various, including flat carving, openwork carving, paste carving, inlay carving, etc., which can be regarded as the fine works of the residential buildings in the Qing Dynasty.
