Chinese Cultural Relics Should Look at Shanxi

Unique halls, simple courtyards, detached carvings and elegant cornices. The charm of ancient Chinese architecture never dissipates with the passage of time. This is the Jinci Temple. The buildings here are not only the combination of technology and art, but also the humanistic feelings accumulated in history.

Jinci Temple is the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council of China. It was built in memory of Shu Yu, the ancestor of the Jin State, and was originally named Tang Shu Yu Temple. It is the largest existing ancient garden-style temple complex in China. There are many ancient architectural groups in the Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Its unique architecture makes Jinci Temple a shining pearl in Shanxi, the "treasure house of ancient Chinese architecture".

Through the vermilion mountain gate, the beauty of Jinci architecture comes straight from the front: the main hall and the pavilions are among the swaying ancient trees and the reflection of streams and pools, exuding the majesty of thousands of years; The pavilions and waterside pavilions are covered by the forest and the eaves and corners are interlaced. They are filled with the natural interest of quiet flowers and noisy birds.

To the west along the central axis, the first building is the water mirror platform. This stage, built in the Ming Dynasty, combines the architectural styles of the hall, stage, tower and pavilion. The exquisite wood carvings on the eaves and the bells at the wing corners are murmuring the lamentable past; The "flying dragon" between the pillars seems to be lamenting the joys and sorrows of the world; Exquisite two-hole flower window, like human eyes, quietly watching the coming and going of cold and summer.

To the south of the central axis are buildings such as Shengying Tower, Jellyfish Tower, Nanlaoquan Pavilion, Zhenqu Pavilion, Wangqiong Temple, Fengsheng Temple, Sacrificial Living Tower and so on.

Through the window, across the door, through the corridor... The bricks and tiles here are thick with the poetry of the sages. Green tiles, red walls, clear water... Every eave and column here is full of the charm of time.
