Changyin Pavilion -- one of the three opera houses in Qing Dynasty

Changyin Pavilion, for the Qing Palace drama building, the full name of the Palace Museum Ningshou Palace Changyin Pavilion theatre, is located in the Palace Museum in the east side of the Yangsex Hall, Ningshou Palace back district east Road south, south, the building is magnificent. It was built in the thirty-seventh year of Qianlong's reign (1772 AD), and took four years to complete in the forty-first year of Qianlong's reign (1776 AD).

Changyin Pavilion has three eaves, with a base height of 1.2 meters and a total height of 20.71 meters, with a total area of 685.94 square meters. It has a rolling shed and a hill-shaped roof, covered with green glazed tiles and yellow glazed tiles. The first and second eaves are covered with yellow glazed tiles. In ancient China, going to the theatre was the main entertainment in the imperial palace. During all kinds of festivals, such as New Year's Day, Start of Spring, Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Double ninth, Winter solstice, New Year's Eve, as well as the emperor's ascending the pole, the emperor's birthday and other major celebrations, to watch the opera in the palace. The grand Changyin Pavilion is specially used for theatrical performances at major festivals. Most of the operas performed here are auspicious fairy plays.
