Mu Mansion is the "grand view garden" of lijiang ancient city culture. Mu Mansion scenic area covers an area of 46 mu, the central axis is 369 meters long, the whole building complex sits west to east, is a brilliant garden of architectural art. Mu Mansion, fully reflects the style of the Ming Dynasty Central Plains architecture, while retaining the tang and Song Central Plains architecture, simple and rough wind lingering charm, jade ditch inside the mansion, the layout of long flowing water, but also can see the traditional ethnic characteristics of bai and Naxi.

Its layout is modeled after the Forbidden City in Beijing. The building in the middle is the Mu family courtyard, or living area. The whole Mu mansion is in the embrace of Lion Rock, located in the head of the entire ancient city, the west river water on three sides of the circulation, the ancient city streets and dwellings built along the river.

Stepping into the vermillion wooden mansion door, the eyes suddenly open, a magnificent palace towering on an open ground, white marble base carved beautifully, that magnificent momentum, make people feel like being in the palace.
If what we see in the old town of Lijiang is the side of the secular life of Lijiang, then in the Mu Mansion, we will read the rise and fall of a great family that was once brilliant in the southwest area. It is the most remarkable one in the development history of the Naxi nation.

Mu Mansion went through three dynasties, yuan, Ming and Qing. In its heyday, it covered an area of more than 100 mu, with nearly 100 buildings, and was the heart of the 800-year-old Dayan Ancient city. Although it is only a chieftain's house, but its luxury and grand, no less than any of the royal residence.
