The architectural of traditional dwellings of the Korean nationality in China

Since ancient times, the North Korean people have liked to choose a place with the leeward sun, mountains and rivers, and elegant environment to build houses. 

North Korean houses are in the shape of large roofs. The ridges of the roofs are flat in the middle and upright at both ends. The middle is flat like a boat, and the two ends are upright like flying cranes. All the lines and faces that make up the large roof are gentle curves and curved surfaces, and the main contour lines such as the ridge are painted with thick white lines. The slow, steady, graceful curves and curved surfaces, as well as the large white outlines outside the rafters, are the points of difference between the big roofs of North Korea and other ethnic groups in China and Japan.

The doors and windows in traditional buildings, whether they are doors or windows, have criss-crossed fine wood lattice door (window) lattices, and window paper is applied. The shape of the panes is very particular, there are many kinds of patterns, the lengths are combined, the squares and circles are matched, the density is alternate, and strive to be neat, generous and pleasing to the eye.

There are two types of houses: tile houses and thatched houses. Traditional tiles are decorated with Jomon and auspicious characters. Round or semi-circular lotus-patterned tiles, neat black tiles, towering roof ridges, and snow-white walls give people a fresh, comfortable and clean aesthetic.

In the interior decoration, the Korean people love the totem scene of "ten longevity". "Ten longevity" refers to the sea, mountain, water, stone, cloud, pine, eternal grass, turtle, crane, deer and other longevity things.
