Why do Courtyard(Siheyuan) use grey tiles?

2. The waterproof and impermeable performance of gray tile is stronger
As a waterproof material for roofs, the most basic function of grey tiles is to be waterproof and impermeable, so tiles will inevitably come into contact with rainwater. If the water absorption rate is too high, it will increase the weight of the roof, which will adversely affect the safety of the house structure; it will not be easy to dry, and the anti-corrosion and durability of the blue tile will also be reduced. If it is in the cold winter, too much moisture in the green tile will also reduce the frost resistance of the tile. Small green tiles are dense and do not absorb water, there is no problem of micropore water seepage, and they have good moisture absorption and dehumidification functions.

3. Grey tile has excellent fireproof and heat insulation performance
The thermal insulation, fireproof and moisture-proof functions of the courtyard tiles are particularly important. If the roof tile is not insulated, it will be like being in a steamer in hot summer; if it is not insulated, it will be like being in a vast snow field in winter; if it is not fireproof, there will be a fire hazard.

4, Grey tile has high-strength compression and impact resistance
The Grey tile has a good bearing capacity. After testing, when the support spacing is 20mm and the load is 15kg, the grey tile will not produce cracks and damage. The installation method is to fix it on the roof of the house through cement mortar, and the effect of windproof and earthquake resistance is better.

Most of the traditional gray tiles are made of clay, do not contain radioactive elements, and can fully meet the requirements of green environmental protection. They are real green roof tiles. The color of gray tiles is long-lasting and will not fade for life.
