Du Fu Thatched Cottage

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is located by Huanhua Creek outside the west gate of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China. It was the former residence of the great realist poet Du Fu in Tang Dynasty when he lived in Chengdu. The Thatched Cottage retains the pattern of the Jiaqing reconstruction in Qing Dynasty, with a total area of nearly 300 mu.

Today's thatched cottage is simple and elegant, with a grand scale, covering an area of more than 300 acres. Three of the main monumental buildings are located on the central axis, which is deep and quiet. Between the small halls, surrounded by corridors, there is something special about it. Pavilions, platforms, pools, pavilion on terrace are another scene of scenery.

Du Fu has lived in thatched cottage for nearly four years and has created more than 240 poems that have been passed down to the present. The Former Residence of Thatched Cottage is regarded as the "Holy Land" in the history of Chinese literature. The former residence is both poetic and picturesque. It is a well-known garden combining humanistic landscape and natural landscape. It is now a museum integrating the layout of the memorial ancestral hall and the poet's former residence. In March 1961, it was announced as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.

The buildings mainly built with clay roof tiles. Luoyang Dannuo Gardens & Building Material Co., Ltd. is the manufacturer to produce the roof tiles, such as Chinese clay roof tiles, Japanese roof tiles, glazed roof tiles, porcelain roof tiles, wood gazebo, clay brick wall decoration etc. If you need it, please feel free to contact us.
