Chang Garden

Suzhou Chang Garden is a classical garden building originally built in the Qing Dynasty. The garden is located on the east side of the residence. Walking from the gate of the garden is the Osmanthus Hall. There are osmanthus trees and Chinese parasol in the small courtyard behind the hall. Opposite the courtyard is the Tonghua Bookstore, passing through the bookstore, the whole garden is in front of you.

The area of Chang Garden’s pool occupies about one-fourth of the entire garden. The lake is surrounded by rocks, with uneven twists and turns. A stone bridge was built at the south end to divide the pool surface into two. There are sparse flowers and trees such as white bark pine, wisteria, pomegranate, and clover. Along the east garden wall to the north, the corridor winds and undulates, surrounded by water. There are two pavilions in the middle, one is a hexagonal pavilion, and the other is a square pavilion for people to rest. Between the two pavilions, small pieces of bamboo and stone are dotted, elegant and fresh.
