Wang Family Courtyard

The Wang Family Courtyard is located in Jingsheng Town, 12 kilometers east of Lingshi County, Shanxi Province. The Wang Family Courtyard is a master of residential architecture in the Qing Dynasty. It is a descendant of the Taiyuan Wang family, one of the four major families in Lingshi County in history-Jingsheng Wang Family.

The scale of the building is huge, with "Five Alleys", "Five Forts" and "Five Ancestral Halls". Among them, the layout of the courtyards of the five ancient castles has been hailed as "Dragon", "Phoenix", "Turtle", "Lin", and "Tiger". The total area is more than 250,000 square meters.

The whole building leans against a high slope and the fort wall is high, similar to the style of the Ming Dynasty. The “Liqun Art Museum”, set up in Chongning Fort, displays all the works of the contemporary famous print artist Liqun from Lingshi. It is the crystallization of Liqun’s overall artistic image. The literary and artistic circles have a profound impact. This building is vast, extensive and magnificent. It seems to be changing in a uniform way, while maintaining the commonality of the traditional houses in the north; it also shows an outstanding personality.

The surrounding wall courtyard of this building complex is tightly enclosed, and the four doors are adapted to local conditions. The large and small courtyards are both well-matched and independent. According to the feudal ritual system, a large number of household items handed down from the Jingsheng Wang family have been displayed in different categories in each hall and living room. Basically, the historical style of the Wang family was restored.

The overall layout of the building complex is concealed with the word "king", and is accompanied by the shape of a dragon. In addition to the courtyard behind the front hall, in order to conform to the terrain, part of it has been transformed into a garden in the front and a courtyard in the back. Some of these courtyards are magnificent and some are quiet and small. The carvings of brick, wood and stone, some of which are from the early Qianlong period (in ancient china), are simple and rugged, and still retain the Ming style.

The Wang Family Courtyard, as China's outstanding traditional architectural cultural heritage and folk art treasures, has had a positive impact at home and abroad over the past few years.

The building of Wang Family Courtyard mainly built with clay roof tiles. Luoyang Dannuo Gardens & Building Material Co., Ltd. is the manufacturer to produce the roof tiles, such as Chinese clay roof tiles, Japanese roof tiles, glazed roof tiles, porcelain roof tiles, wood gazebo, clay brick wall decoration etc.
