Most Siheyuan are distributed in the north of China, and the architectural form in the south also has the image and function similar to the courtyard in the north.

The quadrangle courtyard is an architectural form surrounded by four sides. There are walls on all sides of the courtyard, people outside cannot see the courtyard, people cannot see the outside of the courtyard. The activities of the family are inside the courtyard wall. The only way to communicate with the outside world is the gate, and the gate is usually closed.
