Chinese Four Great Pavilions

The Four Great Pavilions are famous in China for their poetry articles by literati. They are the Zuiweng Pavilion in Chuzhou, the Taoran Pavilion in Beijing, the Aiwan Pavilion in Changsha, and Lake Heart Pavilion in Hangzhou.

The buildings in the Zuiweng Pavilion are compact and chic, with south of the Yangtze River garden features. The total area is less than 1,000 square meters, but there are nine different views,  Zuiweng Pavilion, Baosong House, Fenggong Temple, Gumei Pavilion, Yingxiang Pavilion, Yizai Pavilion, Yi Pavilion, Gumei Platform, and Yudu Platform. They have different styles and are known as “Zuiweng Nine Scenery”. Because of the profound influence of "Zuiweng Pavilion Records" and the passing of the ages, the Zuiweng pavilion ranks first among the four famous pavilions, and is also known as the "first pavilion in the world."

Taoran Pavilion park is located in Xicheng District, Beijing. It was built in 1952. It is a historical and cultural park that integrates classical architecture and modern garden art and highlights the Chinese culture of “Pavilion Culture”. The whole park covers an area of 56.56 hectares, of which the water area is 16.15 hectares. Taoran Pavilion is a famous pavilion in the Qing Dynasty and is now one of the four historical pavilions in China.

Aiwan Pavilion and Taoran Pavilion, Lake Heart Pavilion, and Zuiweng Pavilion are also known as Chinese four famous pavilions. It is also revolutionary activities and is cultural relic protection units in Hunan Province. The pavilion is shaped double eaves and eight-column, green glazed Chinese roof tiles, and corners of the pavilion is flying and swaying. It looks like want to fly from a distance. Inside is the red lacquered column, the four outer stone pillars are granite, the pavilion is painted with caisson ceiling, and the east and west sides of the pavilion are hung with the red bottom sheet metal “Aiwan Pavilion”. It was made according to Mao Zedong’s handwriting which the president of the Hunan University, Li Da letter Mao Zedong to write.

Lake Heart Pavilion, one of the four famous pavilions in China, is located in the center of West Lake, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Lake Heart Pavilion, Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, and Ruangong Isle are collectively called the Three Islands in the lake. It is the earliest island in the Three Islands.
